Riyo AI Bestie ("Riyo", "we", "our", "us") is a student companion and study support app. This policy explains what data we collect, why we use it, and how users can control it.
Information We Collect
- Account information: email address, login identifier, display name, and authentication provider details.
- Student profile: nickname, class, goal, weak subject, language preference, tone preference, optional birthday, and onboarding answers.
- Chat content: messages, study questions, uploaded academic images, AI replies, and chat history needed to provide the service.
- Usage data: daily message limits, streaks, reward points, selected theme, pass status, and basic diagnostic events.
- Payment status: plan selected, payment/order/subscription identifiers, entitlement status, and validity period. We do not store card, UPI PIN, CVV, or banking credentials.
- Device data: push notification tokens, browser/app version, and local app settings needed for app functionality.
How We Use Data
- To provide AI chat, study help, image-based academic solving, voice features, streaks, and themes.
- To maintain accounts, sync chat history, and prevent unauthorized access.
- To enforce free limits, paid entitlements, refunds, and payment verification.
- To send reminders, calendar/event notifications, and app updates where permitted.
- To detect safety risks, abuse, spam, or prohibited content.
- To improve reliability, fix bugs, and comply with legal and store requirements.
AI Processing
Messages and uploaded academic images may be sent to AI model providers so Riyo can generate responses. Users should not share unnecessary sensitive personal information in chat. AI answers may be imperfect, especially for academic solutions, current affairs, medical, legal, or financial topics.
Third-Party Services
- Supabase: authentication, database, storage, and chat sync.
- AI providers: language and image-solving responses.
- Razorpay: payment processing, subscriptions, and payment verification.
- Brevo/Supabase SMTP: account and password-reset emails.
- Ad networks: rewarded ads may be used in future app builds. Their data use will depend on the ad SDK and user consent settings.
Children and Students
Riyo is designed for students. Users under 13 should use the app only with parent, guardian, or school guidance. Users aged 13-17 should have permission from a parent or guardian before making purchases or sharing personal information.
Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. We share data only with service providers needed to run the app, comply with law, process payments, protect users, or respond to user requests.
Retention
We keep account, profile, chat, entitlement, and support data while the account is active or as needed for security, legal, accounting, dispute, and fraud-prevention purposes. Users can request deletion using the data deletion page.
Security
We use authentication, database access controls, and server-side payment verification. No online service is perfectly secure, so users should protect their login credentials and avoid sharing sensitive information in chat.
